Registration open for the workshop "Sustainable cooperation across the Alps"

The workshop - as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities - will be held in person on October 12, 2023, from 11.30 to 12.30 in Brussels.

Registration is open for the workshop “Sustainable cooperation across the Alps: the governance of fuzzy territories” promoted and moderated by the Lombardy Region as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, the annual event organized by the European Commission - DG REGIO and by the Committee European of the Regions.

The workshop will be held in person October 12, 2023, from 11.30 to 12.30 CEST in Brussels at the SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre, Hall 300.

THE WORKSHOP IN BRIEF

The workshop addresses the topic of governance of Alpine territories located between remote mountain areas and metropolitan lowland areas, characterized by a high number of flows and connections that go beyond administrative borders, and which would require specific governance tools. Experts in the field will discuss this particular challenge already under the attention of the ESPON and Alpine Space programs, as well as EUSALP and the Alpine Convention, with the aim of contributing to the development of operational policies to support the responsible authorities.
